ALYOSHKI /Kherson Region/. October 30. /TASS/. More than 60 pets were evacuated from the town of Alyoshki in the Kherson Region together with their owners, Oleg Zubkov, owner of the Taigan safari park in Crimea, told TASS.
"We took 60 [pets] from there. <...> The good thing is that most of these pets will stay with their owners and won’t come to live at our park, Zubkov said.
According to him, the animals will first be taken to a distribution center in the southern Russian city of Anapa, from where they will travel to other Russian regions or to Ukraine together with their owners.
One of the evacuated cats, named Simba, was rescued from a burning apartment and will now live in Russia, his owner said. "There was a strike, a fire broke out and smoke started, so we ran outside as we were. All our belongings burned down, and we no longer have a home," the woman said, adding that her husband had gone back to rescue the cat.
A dog named Bosya is also among the pet evacuees.
