Donetsk authorities urge city residents not to leave shelters amid relentless shelling

The shells landed both on the outskirts and in the center

DONETSK, June 18. /TASS/. The Ukrainian armed forces have been shelling Donetsk for the third consecutive day, so due to heavy, unceasing artillery bombardments, the city authorities and law enforcement bodies have called on the residents via social networks and Telegram channels to stay in shelters, a TASS correspondent reported on Saturday.

The shells landed both on the outskirts and in the center. According to the Joint Center on Ceasefire Control and Coordination (JCCC), in the past hour Ukrainian troops have fired more than twenty 152 and 155 mm shells, which are in NATO weaponry, at Donetsk.

Donetsk’s Voroshilovsky district has been shelled for more than half an hour. People are taking shelter in basements, the first floors of hotels or cafes. Some are trying to rush across the streets, getting from one building to another.
