Putin concludes marathon of meetings at Russia-Africa summit

There were so many bilateral meetings with African heads of state that they extended beyond the summit days into the following Friday

MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin has concluded a series of international meetings held in Moscow over the past few days, a TASS correspondent reports.

Two major summits took place in the Russian capital this week. On Tuesday, Moscow hosted the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, followed by the Russia-Africa summit on Wednesday and Thursday. The Russian president not only took part in the plenary sessions but also held separate talks with most of the leaders who had traveled to Moscow.

There were so many bilateral meetings with African heads of state that they extended beyond the summit days into the following Friday. The schedule ran late into the evening almost every day, sometimes continuing well into the night. On Friday, the Kremlin hosted nine protocol meetings alone. All the leaders voiced support for continuing to hold such summits.
