Madagascar is Russia’s important partner in building multipolar world, Putin says

The Russian president noted that Russia and Madagascar share long-standing, friendly ties

MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. Madagascar is an important partner in the process of shaping a more equitable world order, Russian President Vladimir said at a meeting with the transitional president of the Republic of Madagascar, Michael Randrianirina.

"We view your country as an important partner in the process of forming a multipolar global architecture - a balanced and fair system of international relations," Putin said. "We are prepared to expand our joint efforts on international platforms, including, of course, the primary one: the United Nations."

Putin noted that Russia and Madagascar share long-standing, friendly ties.

"Our talks in Moscow in February provided a strong impetus for strengthening cooperation between Russia and Madagascar across a wide range of issues," Putin recalled. "The potential for bilateral trade and economic activity has not yet been fully tapped."

"While the volume of trade remains quite modest in absolute terms, it is gaining momentum, and the trends are positive," he concluded.
