Russia, Kazakhstan to sign $100 mln worth of agreements at forum — Putin

The Russian leader noted that that the forum had brought together representatives of more than 30 regions of the two countries

ASTANA, November 9. /TASS/. There are plans to sign agreements worth some $100 mln at the 19th Russia-Kazakhstan Interregional Cooperation Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin told a plenary session of the event.

"As far as I know, a slew of new agreements and memorandums as well as commercial contracts worth a total of some $100 mln has been prepared for signing at this forum," Putin said. "This clearly shows how successful the economic relationship between Russia and Kazakhstan has been," he emphasized.

The Russian leader noted that that the forum had brought together representatives of more than 30 regions of the two countries. "[They are] exactly the people who handle the practical aspects of the entire range of our relations - in politics, the economy and the humanitarian sphere," Putin said.

According to him, cooperation between the two countries’ regions continues to expand, involving new players and being filled with specific content. So far, 76 Russian regions have established partnerships with Kazakh regions," the Russian president concluded.
