DUSHANBE, October 30. /TASS/. Service members of a motorized infantry unit from the 201st Russian Military Base, stationed in Tajikistan, have destroyed simulated enemy personnel and equipment in an exercise, the Central Military District said in a press release.
The combat training was held at Tajikistan’s Lyaur mountain training ground, it said.
According to the exercise scenario, operators of reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) detected the simulated enemy’s fortified positions and transmitted the data to the command post, the press service stated. Upon receiving their orders, the motorized infantry advanced to the firing area and engaged the simulated enemy, eliminating its troops, while grenade launcher crews destroyed the simulated enemy’s lightly armored vehicles.
During the exercise, the servicemen practiced tactical firing techniques from various positions and behind cover, maneuvering in pairs, and engaging simulated targets. They used Kalashnikov assault rifles and PKM machine guns, as well as RPG-7 portable anti-tank grenade launchers. The engagement of simulated enemy forces was supported by UAV operators, who monitored target hits and guided the advance of the assault teams.
The 201st Military Base, stationed in Tajikistan, is Russia’s largest military facility outside its borders. Based in two cities, Dushanbe and Bokhtar, it includes motorized infantry, tank, artillery, and reconnaissance units, as well as air defense, NBC protection, and signal units.
