UAC delivers Su-57, Su-35S fighter jets

"Other batches of Su-57 fifth-generation and Su-35S multirole fighter jets of generation 4++ will be delivered by the end of the year," CEO Vadim Badekha added

MOSCOW, November 11. /TASS/. The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) delivered to the Russian Aerospace Forces a batch of Su-57 and Su-35S fighter jets. UAC CEO Vadim Badekha said there would be other batches this year.

The fighter jets have passed the whole cycle of factory trials and were accepted. Military pilots tested them at various operational regimes, Rostec said adding the fighter jets flew to the deployment airfield.

"UAC enterprises continue rhythmical operation to fulfil the commitments. Other batches of Su-57 fifth-generation and Su-35S multirole fighter jets of generation 4++ will be delivered by the end of the year. The aircraft are at various production and test stages," Badekha said.

Intellectual solutions in Su-57 provide excellent flight and combat characteristics, he said adding Su-57 is the best aircraft in its class.

Su-57 multirole fifth-generation fighter jet was designed to destroy all air, ground, and water surface targets, monitor the airspace at major distances from deployment bases, make adversary headquarters, command posts and control systems inoperative. The jet can engage a broad range of guided and unguided weapons, including air-to-air short, medium and long-range missiles, smart 250, 500 and 1500 kg bombs (the latter from outside suspension). Maximum combat payload is 10 tons. The aircraft stealth characteristics are boosted by the construction shape, as well as reflecting and absorbing coating materials and electronic warfare means. Some weapons are hidden inside the aircraft to decrease signature. The measures weaken the reflected signal and deviate it from the source. Adversary radar does not receive the information on the location and speed of the aircraft. Low signature in the optical band is ensured by digital (pixel) camouflage painting of the aircraft.

Su-35S (Flanker-E+ by NATO classification) is a deeply upgraded super maneuverable multirole fighter jet of generation 4++ designed with fifth-generation technologies. It is distinguished by a new digital avionic complex, a new radar with passive phased antenna array and increased number of simultaneously tracked and attacked targets, plasma-ignition engines of increased capacity and controllable vectoring. The engines correspond to fifth-generation power plants as they develop supersonic speed without a boost. Su-35S is a deep upgrade of Su-27. It has a reinforced glider and no frontal horizontal fins and brake flap. Braking at landing is done by turning rudders to different sides. The jet is armed with a 30mm GSh-30-1 gun and carries short, medium and long-range missiles, antiship Kh-31, Kh-35U or Kh-59M missiles, as well as various precision and unguided munitions.
