MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has unofficially resumed its work in the eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk a week ago, a spokesperson for the ICRC’s Moscow regional delegation Viktoriya Zotikova said on Friday.
“A decision has been taken to suspend the work (because of the death of the ICRC staff member),” she said.
ICRC welcomes any humanitarian assistance for people suffering from the military actions in Ukraine’s south-east, though it did not participate in sending another Russian convoy to Donbass, Zotikova said on Friday.
“We are aware of the initiative, but we cannot participate in whatever actions in the absence of accord between the parties,” she said.
“However, we welcome all initiatives, which may at least in some way make easier lives of people in the region,” she added.
