DOHA, June 24. /TASS/. Israel and other US allies in the Middle East know where President Donald Trump's red lines lie as he seeks to implement the ceasefire agreement with Iran, said Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Speaking to reporters, he denied that Israel is trying to undermine the deal between Washington and Tehran.
"The Israelis exactly know what we're working on. All of our partners in the region know what we're working on. Everybody understands what the president's red lines and positions are on this. I don't know what reports you're referencing," Rubio who is currently on a tour of the Middle East, said.
The Washington Post reported on June 19 that US intelligence has warned the White House that Israel is likely to undermine Trump's efforts to achieve a lasting peace with Iran.
Washington and Tehran have recently signed a memorandum of understanding that calls for an immediate ceasefire on all fronts, including in Lebanon. On June 21-22, the United States and Iran held negotiations in the Swiss resort of Burgenstock, mediated by Doha and Islamabad, on the implementation of the memorandum. As noted in a joint statement by Pakistan and Qatar after the first round of negotiations, the meeting with the representatives of Iran and the United States was held in a positive and constructive atmosphere, and encouraging progress was made, including the establishment of a framework for further technical consultations.
