Iran reports shooting down US F-35 fighter jet

The Iranian military specified that the likelihood that the crew had managed to eject was low

CAIRO, April 3. /TASS/. Iran’s General Staff said a US Air Force F-35 fighter jet had been shot down over central parts of the Islamic Republic, according to a statement broadcast by Iranian state television.

"A US Air Force F-35 aircraft was shot down over central Iran. This was achieved using an advanced air defense system of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC, elite units of the Iranian army - TASS)," the statement said. The military added that, in its assessment, "the likelihood that the crew managed to eject is low."
