Russian Red Cross provides assistance to over 133,000 residents of border regions

Chairman Pavel Savchuk estimated the volume of aid provided since the beginning of the year at approximately $1.2 million

MOSCOW, October 31. /TASS/. More than 133,000 residents of Russia’s border regions have received assistance worth over 96 million rubles (approximately $1.2 million) from the Russian Red Cross (RRC) since the beginning of the year, the organization’s Chairman Pavel Savchuk told TASS.

"Since the beginning of 2026, the Russian Red Cross has provided assistance worth over 96 million rubles to more than 133,000 residents of border regions. They are residents of the Kursk, Voronezh, Rostov, Belgorod and Bryansk regions, as well as the Republic of Crimea," he said.

Savchuk noted that the RRC supports people affected by emergencies, those forced to leave their homes, and those who find themselves in difficult life circumstances. "We provide food, drinking water, clothing, hygiene products, items for children and school supplies, bedding and household appliances. We also provide cash assistance and vouchers so that families can purchase the necessities themselves," he stressed.
