Russia puts blogger Veronika Belotserkovskaya on wanted list — Interior Ministry data

According to the investigation, Belotserkovskaya published several posts with information discrediting the Russian armed forces on social media

MOSCOW, May 13. /TASS/. Businesswoman and blogger Veronika Belotserkovskaya who’s under investigation in a case of deliberately spreading false information about the Russian armed forces has been put on the wanted list, according to data from the Russian Interior Ministry.

"Belotserkovskaya Veronika Borisovna, dob 25.06.1970. Place of birth: Ukraine, Odessa. Wanted in criminal investigation," the ministry’s data base showed.

The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case against Veronika Belotserkovskaya on March 16. According to the investigation, Belotserkovskaya published several posts with information discrediting the Russian armed forces on Instagram (banned in the Russian Federation; owned by the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation) in March.

The Investigative Committee said that Belotserkovskaya is outside Russia, so a procedure was put in motion to put her on an international wanted list. She faces a punishment ranging from a fine of 3 million rubles to 10 years in prison.

Veronika Belotserkovskaya is an author of popular cookbooks, an entrepreneur, and a blogger. She is also the publisher of the Sobaka.ru magazine, the owner of a culinary school in southern France.
