No confirmation yet regarding Putin-Trump-Xi summit on APEC sidelines — Russian MFA

When asked whether the topic of arms control would be addressed during the summit, Andrey Rudenko clarified that the agenda itself is still under discussion

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. There is no final confirmation yet as to whether a summit meeting of the leaders of Russia, the United States, and China - Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump, and Xi Jinping - will take place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko has said.

"At the moment, our Chinese friends - who are the hosts of this summit - are working on it. I say 'if' such a summit takes place, because there is no final decision or confirmation yet. But should it happen, the agenda would naturally include various topics agreed upon by the three states. If any of these topics were deemed unsuitable by one of the parties, it would not be included on the agenda," he said in response to a question on the matter.

When asked whether the topic of arms control would be addressed during the summit, Rudenko clarified that the agenda itself is still under discussion.

"There is no definitive confirmation yet that the summit will take place. Yes, there is a possibility, but for now, we are speaking of it strictly as a possibility," he added.

Previously, Trump suggested that a trilateral meeting involving himself, Putin, and Xi could be held in China. Russian Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov told reporters that during a meeting with US special envoy Steve Witkoff, Putin discussed the potential for a trilateral meeting with Trump and Xi on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which is scheduled to take place in Shenzhen on November 18-19.
