MELITOPOL, March 1. /TASS/. Russian forces have taken control of several Ukrainian strongholds near the village of Marfopol in the Zaporozhye Region, Vladimir Rogov, leader of the We Are Together with Russia movement told TASS.

"The situation near the Marfopol has improved, with our forces having advanced taken control of several strongpoints of the Ukrainian army. <…> Now this settlement is in the grey zone," he said.

The Russian defense ministry reported earlier that during the past week Russian forces had improved their frontline positions in the southern Donetsk area.
