ST. PETERSBURG, October 19. /TASS/. The government of St. Petersburg will introduce additional safety measures for various civilian infrastructure facilities, the city administration’s press service said on Wednesday.
"In accordance with the president’s decree, St. Petersburg will do everything necessary to improve security at utility infrastructure and public facilities," the press service said in a statement.
"No additional restrictive measures have been introduced for the time being," the statement says.
The city administration added that Russia’s second largest city has everything it needs to fulfill the presidential decree, and urban life will not be affected by the planned precautions.
"The measures that we are about to take will have no effect on the daily lives of St. Petersburg’s residents. We have no plans of introducing additional restrictions. Our city continues to live and work like before," St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov said on his Telegram channel.
