BEIJING, May 25. /TASS/. China has held military drills in the waters near Taiwan to send a serious warning to the United States, a spokesman for the People’s Liberation Army’s Easter Theater Command said Wednesday.
The Eastern Theater Command forces have patrolled the waters near Taiwan and held a military exercise involving various branches of service, She Yi said in a statement. This is a serious warning to the US over its recent activities in Taiwan, according to the statement.
The US has stepped up efforts to "encourage separatists in Taiwan", he said. "These are futile attempts, which can only cause a dangerous situation. And the United States will also face grave consequences," he said.
