MOSCOW, April 24. /TASS/. The United States is planning "globally integrated" operations in which all intelligence and control means would be pooled into an integrated circuit resembling the Internet, the chief of the General Staff’s intelligence directorate, Igor Sergun, said on Friday.
He explained that a "globally integrated" campaign spelled an evolution from the strategic level operation. It would be conducted simultaneously on land, on the high seas, in space and in the cyberspace. In the course of such operations highly mobile combined forces will be formed promptly on the basis of US military units in various parts of the world," Sergun said.
"Tight cooperation by all forces and means involved will be ensured at all levels," he said.
Sergun said that it would be possible to carry out such operations by "short-circuiting all of the US intelligence resources and control bodies into a global information and control network arranged and operating on principles similar to those of the global network Internet."
Sergun also revealed that the United States plans to expand the forward deployment of its armed forces, which implies the permanent or temporary presence of its troops in the territories of more than 100 countries around the world.
"There are plans for creating weapons and military equipment depots in these countries in advance. The hardware in store will be ready for use in hypothetical combat operations in forward zones," he told a scientific-research conference of Russia’s top military commanders in Moscow on Friday.
"It is presumed that in a future war US forces will be acting both on its own and together with its NATO allies or as part of coalition groups," he said.
