RABAT, October 6. /TASS/. Qatar’s top officials met with Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, putting forward a number of proposals that will be subsequently conveyed to the Islamic Republic’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian.
Commenting on his visit to Doha, Momeni was quoted as saying by the Mehr news agency: "Emir of Qatar [Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani] came up with a number of proposals that I will convey to the president [of Iran] upon my return to Tehran."
He went on to say that "the sides held a fruitful and constructive dialogue on issues of bilateral concern."
"We [Iran and Qatar] exchanged messages and raised questions highlighted by President Pezeshkian," he continued, adding that "the issues that were raised received positive and favorable feedback from the Emir of Qatar."
The Islamic Republic’s interior minister arrived in Doha on an official invitation from his Qatari counterpart. The foreign ministry of Qatar earlier said that Doha continues to mediate the indirect US-Iranian dialogue. It said that the exchange of opinions between Washington and Tehran continues without cease, and the ongoing diplomatic visits are result-oriented.
