MOSCOW, December 12. /TASS/. The Ukrainian authorities are ready to hold talks on the deployment of foreign military forces in the country, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Olga Stefanishina told the European edition of Politico.
"Ukraine is ready to speak about whatever works," she said when responding to a question on whether Kiev is ready to host foreign troops on its territory.
French President Emmanuel Macron said on February 26 that during a meeting of representatives from about 20 Western countries in Paris, the possibility of sending ground troops to Ukraine was discussed. Le Monde then reported that Macron wanted to establish an EU coalition for joint deployment of military instructors to Ukraine. On 25 November, the newspaper wrote that European countries had resumed discussions on the possible deployment of their troops or fighters from private military companies to the country. Meanwhile, Vladimir Zelensky admitted that nobody among his allies had discussed this matter in detail.
Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov has warned that the deployment of foreign military personnel in Ukraine would have extremely negative, potentially irreparable, consequences.
