TBILISI, October 29. /TASS/. Independent candidate Salome Zurabishvili and Grigol Vashadze nominated by the former ruling party, the United National Movement, are the frontrunners at the presidential election in Georgia after votes at 3,572 (96,41%) polling stations have been processed. They have thus made it to the second round of the presidential race.

According to the latest data made public by Georgia’s Central Election Commission on Monday, Zurabishvili supported by the Georgian Dream party has secured 38.62% of the vote, while Vashadze garnered 37.74%. David Bakradze who was nominated by the European Georgia party has 10.94%, and leader of the Labor Party Shalva Natelashvili has secured 3.76% of the vote.

According to the Central Election Commission, the vote count results at the remaining polling stations will have no significant impact on the overall preliminary outcome of the election, and none of the candidates will be able to secure the required number of votes for the victory.
