MOSCOW, June 25. /TASS/. Almost two thirds of Polish citizens oppose Ukraine’s possible accession to the European Union, a survey conducted by the IBRiS research center for Radio Zet reveals.
According to the poll, 59.7% of respondents are against Ukraine’s membership in the EU, with 32.3% "strongly" rejecting it.
A total of 35.3% of participants favored Ukraine’s accession to the EU, but only 8.4% of them are sure that it is "absolutely essential."
Another 5% of those surveyed said they did not have an opinion on the matter.
The poll was conducted among 1,068 adults across Poland on June 12-13.
On June 15, Ukraine officially began accession negotiations with the EU.
