Jehovah’s Witnesses cell exposed in Kherson Region

GENICHESK, January 23. /TASS/. Police in the Kherson Region have exposed and foiled the activity of a large cell of the extremist organization Jehovah’s Witnesses, outlawed in Russia, the region’s police force said on Monday.

"According to police operatives, the group was conducting destructive activities in two municipal districts of the Kherson Region. In part, it was spreading anti-Orthodox ideas, distributing extremist literature and denying the region’s accession to Russia," the police said on its Telegram channel.

In the village of Novosofiyevka, of the Golaya Pristan municipal district, police operatives exposed a meeting house and a warehouse of prohibited print materials, including four thousand books, magazines, handouts and other content.
