Kherson governor reveals number of residents evacuated from left bank

It is reported that the situation remains calm in Kherson

KHERSON, October 19. /TASS/. About 7,000 people have left the right bank of the Kherson Region in an orderly fashion, Acting Governor of the Kherson Region Vladimir Saldo told reporters on Wednesday.

"According to my calculations, to the data that we have, over 7,000 people have already left," Saldo said.

According to the acting governor, the situation remains calm in Kherson.

"We have a lot of military personnel here. The grouping is solid and robust, so there is reliable protection. But we are relocating people to make it easier for the army to carry out their assigned tasks and to protect the civilian population," Saldo stressed.

Saldo announced earlier that any civilians living on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Kherson Region would be evacuated to its left bank. He pledged that people would be relocated voluntarily and free of charge.
