Russia to take steps to destroy Storm Shadow missiles if they are supplied to Kiev — MFA

Maria Zakharova described the Storm Shadow missiles as a "symbol of British involvement in the Ukrainian conflict"

MOSCOW, October 28. /TASS/. Relevant Russian services will take action to destroy any new Storm Shadow missiles should they arrive in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told a news briefing.

"We have noted reports - specifically in the British media - regarding planned new shipments of Storm Shadow missiles to the Kiev clique. Whether or not this batch has already been dispatched is something we will discuss during this briefing. It is a matter for our military and intelligence services, which will, without a doubt, take the necessary steps to ensure the timely destruction of these legitimate targets. Moreover, following such boastful rhetoric from the British and their proteges on Bankovaya Street [in Kiev], there has been an intensified effort within Ukraine to carry out criminal strikes against our country using this system - seemingly in an attempt to fulfill the orders of their Western masters," she noted.

Zakharova described the Storm Shadow missiles as a "symbol of British involvement in the Ukrainian conflict," arguing that the issue lays bare what she characterized as the cynicism and deceit underpinning the United Kingdom’s foreign policy.

"Back in 2023, to refresh your memory, when the first discussions took place about supplying these weapons to the neo-Nazis in Ukraine, London said they would be used only ‘within the internationally recognized territories of that country.’ Later, British politicians seemed to suffer collective amnesia, forgetting their own assurances and insisting that they had no influence over the Ukrainians - the Kiev regime - even though they had approved the transfer of the relevant technology to that very regime.

"As for the use of these missiles against civilian targets far from the front lines, London portrays it all as a ‘sovereign decision by the Ukrainian side,’" she added.
