Russian air defenses perform well repelling drone attack on Moscow Region — Kremlin

Russia’s President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces Vladimir Putin has been briefed on the attack

MOSCOW, March 11. /TASS/. Russian air defenses have worked very well repelling today’s attack by Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles on the Moscow Region, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told journalists.

"Our servicemen, our air defenses did a great job," the spokesman said.

"We hope that this will persist in the same way," he added, noting that Russia’s President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Armed Forces Vladimir Putin has been briefed on the attack.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, 337 Ukrainian drones were shot down over Russian regions during the night on March 11, including 91 in the Moscow Region. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that air defenses had successfully countered the largest UAV attack on the Russian capital to date. Two people were killed in the Moscow Region, and more than ten others were injured. Several apartment buildings and other structures sustained damage, while some cars were destroyed by fire. In response, the Russian Investigative Committee has launched a criminal case for terrorist activity.
