Road out of Ukrainian-occupied part of Kursk Region may be established — ombudswoman

Earlier in December, Tatyana Moskalkova told TASS that she had requested the Ukrainian side to arrange a humanitarian corridor for civilians to leave the Ukrainian-occupied territories of the Kursk Region for a safe location

MOSCOW, February 11. /TASS/. Russian Human Rights Ombudswoman Tatyana Moskalkova said that the issue of opening a humanitarian corridor for residents to leave the Ukrainian-occupied part of the Kursk Region may soon be resolved favorably.

"We are working on this issue with Ukraine in close cooperation with the International Red Cross Committee. We hope for a favorable resolution," she told reporters in response to a related question.

Earlier in December, Moskalkova told TASS that she had requested the Ukrainian side to arrange a humanitarian corridor for civilians to leave the Ukrainian-occupied territories of the Kursk Region for a safe location. The ombudswoman stated that, according to her data, civilians in the occupied territories are forced to stay in basements or destroyed houses and lack targeted humanitarian aid deliveries, which is a violation of the Geneva Conventions.
