DONETSK, December 12. /TASS/. Russian troops have encircled the Ukrainian combat group entrenched on the premises of the thermal power plant in Kurakhovo in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), a defense source told TASS on Thursday.

"As reported earlier, the enemy decided to hide on the premises of the Kurakhovo Thermal Power Plant. It set up firing positions there. Naturally, there are shelters there: the infrastructure left over from the period of the Soviet regime, which the enemy despises. However, the adversary has failed to learn from past lessons and now the entire Ukrainian combat group has been surrounded at the power station," the source said.

The Ukrainian battlegroup is unsuccessfully trying to leave the power station’s premises, he added.
