MOSCOW, November 2. /TASS/. Loading on the Russian Railwayus network in October amounted to 95.6 mln metric tons, down by 1.4% compared to the same period last year, the holding company said.
The rise in loading was provided by Kuybyshevskaya (+22.1%), Trans-Baikal (+13.9%), Oktyabrskaya (+5.6%), Far Eastern (+5.1%) and Gorkovskaya (+4.7%) railways, the Russian Railways said.
An increase is noted in shipment of metallurgical freight, including ferrous metals (+8.7%), non-ferrous ore (+9.8%), coke (+21.1%), and scrap metal (+22.5%). Railway shipments of cement (+9%) and chemicals (+9.4%) increased as well.
"The freight turnover continued growing in October (+2.5%) amid the negative overall dynamics of shipments associated with external factors, which reflects the ongoing reorientation of cargo flows and increasing transportation distance," Russian Railways said.
Loading in January - October 2026 totaled 920 mln metric tons and dropped by 0.8% year on year.
