MOSCOW, March 13. /TASS/. The steady support of the agricultural sector enabled Russian farmers to pull in a record high grain harvest of 157 mln metric tons in 2022, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Monday at a meeting with lawmakers from the Edinaya Rossiya [United Russia] party faction in the State Duma.
"The systemic approach in agriculture is producing record high results. We knew that last fall we harvested the best grain crop in the last few decades.. Nevertheless, I would like to say that Rosstat [the Russian statistical service -TASS] has just recently, actually just the other day, summarized the results and we have the exact figure - 157 mln metric tons of grain. This success from our farmers was made possible owing to the sustainable long-term government support of the sector, naturally, with involvement of the parliament and MPs of the Edinaya Rossiya specifically," the Prime Minister said.
