Russian Cabinet extends fertilizer export quotas until year-end

The decision taken is aimed at prevention of fertilizers shortage on the domestic market, the statement reads

MOSCOW, May 31. /TASS/. The Russian Government has approved extension of quotas for mineral fertilizer exports until the end of this year, the Cabinet’s press service said on Tuesday.

"The government made the decision to extend quotas for export of nitrogen and NPK fertilizers. They will be effective from July 1 to December 31, 2022. The decree to that effect was signed," the press service said.

The quota will stand at slightly more than 8.3 mln tonnes for nitrogen fertilizers and a bit above 5.9 mln tonnes for NPK fertilizers. "As before, quotas will not apply to supplies of fertilizers to Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics and to Abkhazia and South Ossetia," the Cabinet noted.

"The decision taken is aimed at prevention of fertilizers shortage on the domestic market and prevention of food prices growth," the press service added.
