MOSCOW, June 26. /TASS/. Russian specialists have developed the Duplet double net gun designed for use against enemy drones, and the device will be launched into serial production, a spokesman for the Polyot Research and Production Association told TASS.
"The latest double net launcher ‘Duplet’ has been developed to give a soldier not just one final chance, but two opportunities to survive in a confrontation with a drone. Two shots significantly enhance effectiveness. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have altered their tactics and begun using two drones against a single soldier at once. The enemy aims to ensure that the target is fully neutralized. If the first drone strikes the target, the second drone goes on a free hunt. This has also driven the decision to develop a new model. We are currently continuing tests of the prototypes and preparing 'Duplet' for serial production," the Polyot Research and Production Association said.
The new net launcher has been created based on requirements from combat personnel, he added.
"Fighters have always wanted to see the battery charge level in percentage terms. That is why we have added a battery charge indicator. We have also added an improved ammunition status indicator. A quick-release mount allows reloading within 5 to 10 seconds, even under stress," the Polyot spokesman emphasized.
The first batch of Duplet double net launchers will arrive for Russian troops in the special military operation area in July, he specified.
