US to win war against Iran, and oil prices to decline, says Trump

According to the president, the US has already defeated Iran from a military standpoint

NEW YORK, September 28. /TASS/. The United States will emerge victorious in the war against Iran, and it will result in a sharp decline in global oil prices, US President Donald Trump said.

"We've already won it really through from a military standpoint, but that doesn't mean we've stopped that. But we're certainly winning it very big," the US president stated in an interview with Fox News.

"Oil will come dropping down as soon as Iran gives up, as soon as the war is over, which will be soon. Oil is going to come plummeting down," according to Trump.

The United States and Israel began a war with Iran on February 28. In June, Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding providing for an immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including in Lebanon.

However, on the night of July 8, the US resumed large-scale strikes against Iran, accusing it of violating the terms of the agreements reached regarding the Strait of Hormuz, through which approximately 25% of global oil trade and about 20% of liquefied natural gas (LNG) trade pass.

Subsequently, the US administration effectively signaled an end to the use of large-scale military force against Iran, shifting toward an attempt to economically strangle the country through sanctions.
