UNITED NATIONS, September 22. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump said a number of promising proposals were put forward at a meeting on settling the conflict with Iran held on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

Trump said his son-in-law Jared Kushner and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff "met with the mediators on Iran deal." "The mediators were here, not the highest level, but it's something. We had a lot of good thoughts. A lot of things are working out very well," he noted at an event devoted to the Shield of the Americas, a US-created regional alliance aimed at combating organized crime.

Trump earlier said the United States and Iran had held a three-hour meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, which, according to him, went very well.
