WASHINGTON, March 27. /TASS/. Washington did not respond to a TASS request for comment on the killings of Russian journalists in Ukrainian shelling attacks.
TASS submitted its request for comment regarding the killing of Russian war reporters or the activity of the Ukrainian military to the White House and the Department of State on Wednesday morning, local time. As of 10:30 p.m. ET on March 26 (2:30 a.m. GMT on March 27), there was no comment from US administration officials.
On Wednesday, Channel One said its military correspondent Anna Prokofyeva, 35, was killed while performing her professional duty in the Belgorod Region. Cameraman Dmitry Volkov, who accompanied her, was injured.
On Monday, news came that Izvestia correspondent Alexander Fedorchak, along with a cameraman and a driver for the Zvezda TV channel, Andrey Panov and Alexander Sirkeli, had been killed in a Ukrainian shelling attack on the rural settlement of Mikhailovka in the Lugansk People’s Republic. Zvezda TV channel correspondent Nikita Goldin was also seriously wounded.
TASS reporter Mikhail Skuratov sustained wounds as a result of an enemy attack in the Sudzha district of Russia’s Kursk Region where he was on a mission.
