MINSK, February 21. /TASS/. The deployment of Russian tactical weapons and in the future the Oreshnik system in Belarus will not allow anyone to dictate their terms and speak from the position of strength, Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin said at a special meeting devoted to Fatherland Defenders Day.
"A confirmation of the highest level of interaction between the brotherly states is seen in the deployment of tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of our country, as well as the decision to deploy in Belarus weapons of the future - the missile complex Oreshnik. All this increases the combat potential of our Armed Forces many times over and makes it absolutely futile to talk to our country from the position of strength," Khrenin is quoted by the Defense Ministry’s press service as saying.
Khrenin noted that the country's armed forces "are continuously being equipped with new and modernized weapons."
"The Belarusian defense-industrial complex and tight military-technical cooperation with Russia play a significant role in this process," the Belarusian defense minister said. "We are ready to ensure our military security with all the forces and means at our disposal.".
