DUBAI, January 21. /TASS/. US President Donald Trump will face huge problems in the Middle East if he allows Israel to deliver a strike on Iranian nuclear facilities, the Khabar Online news portal wrote.
According to the portal’s assessments, many are concerned about the possibility of an all-out military conflict breaking out between the US and Iran, with Israel taking part as well. Iran will be the US president’s biggest challenge on the Middle East front, the portal said.
The article says that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is interested in striking Iranian nuclear facilities, because an operation of this kind would "boost his political clout." At the same time, Netanyahu is aware that a successful attack on Iran’s nuclear sites will be impossible without US help.
Taking into account Trump’s declared plans to stay out of other countries’ wars, there is still hope that Tehran and Washington could strike some kind of deal, Khabar Online said.
Trump's inauguration ceremony took place on January 20. For the first time in 40 years, it was held in the Rotunda - the central hall of Congress, which has a capacity of about 1,000 guests. Trump took the oath of allegiance to the Constitution and the country. He was the 45th president of the United States and is now its 47th.
During his inauguration speech, Trump declared that the power of the United States would allow it to end all wars and ensure unity in the world.
During his first presidential term, Trump was extremely tough on Iran, imposing stringent sanctions on the Islamic Republic, quitting the Iranian nuclear deal, and boosting political, military and economic support of Israel. Before taking the oath as the new US president, Trump mentioned the possibility of an armed conflict with Iran under the pretext of Tehran’s alleged attempts to develop nuclear weapons.
