ISLAMABAD, December 28. /TASS/. At least 24 people have been killed and three others injured in clashes between Taliban supporters (banned in Russia) and Pakistani border guards on the South Asian country's border with Afghanistan, TOLO News reported.

According to the TV channel, the skirmish between Afghan and Pakistani forces occurred near Dand-e-Patan, at the intersection of Afghanistan’s Paktika province and Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region. Artillery fire was used during the fighting. Nineteen Pakistani soldiers and five Afghan nationals were killed, with three other Afghans injured.

On December 24, the Taliban-controlled Afghan Defense Ministry accused Pakistani forces of launching airstrikes in Paktika province. The ministry condemned the attack as a violation of international law, asserting it failed to address any issues. It also pledged retaliatory measures. Reports indicate that at least 50 people were killed and 40 others injured in the airstrike.
