Slovak consulate in St. Petersburg announces it will close at end of December

According to Slovakia's Foreign Ministry statement dated August 28, the Republic will close its embassies in such countries as Denmark and Norway, as well as the consulates general in Krakow and St. Petersburg by December 31, 2024

ST. PETERSBURG, December 5. /TASS/. The Consulate General of Slovakia in St. Petersburg announced that it will stop working on December 31, 2024.

"The Consulate General of the Slovak Republic in St. Petersburg informs that by the decision of the cabinet of the Slovak Republic (Cabinet Decree No. 521 of August 28, 2024, point E.4), its activities will cease on December 31, 2024," the diplomatic mission said in a statement on its website.

According to the statement, the Slovak Consulate General in St. Petersburg does not offer services to Russian nationals. Russian citizens can continue to apply for visas, residence permits or certification of signatures, translations, photocopies and copies of documents to the Slovak Embassy in Moscow.

It said that the Slovak Republic will close its embassies in such countries as Denmark and Norway, as well as the consulates general in Krakow and St. Petersburg by December 31, 2024.
