Another incident occurred on a motorway northeast of the village of Khibert Silm, where an armed man opened fire on a peacekeeping patrol

BEIRUT, November 19. /TASS/. Four peacekeepers from Ghana were wounded in a shelling attack on a post of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) near the border village of Ramiya,

"Four peacekeepers from Ghana, who were on duty, received wounds when a missile launched most likely by non-governmental units in Lebanon hit the UNP 5-42 base east of Ramiya," UNIFIL wrote on its Telegram channel. "Three of those wounded were taken to a hospital in Tyre."

According to the UN peacekeepers, five more projectiles were fired at a UNIFIL technical maintenance center in the village of Shamaa in southern Lebanon, causing serious damage but injuring none.

Another incident occurred on a motorway northeast of the village of Khibert Silm, where an armed man opened fire on a peacekeeping patrol. No one was hurt.

The UNIFIL command is investigating each of these incidents and has informed the Lebanese army about them. "Once again we call on all parties in the ongoing combat operations to respect the inviolability of UN facilities," it said. "Attacks on peacekeepers must stop immediately."

Peacekeepers will continue their mission and will report any violations of UN Security Council resolution 1701, UNIFIL pledged.
