WASHINGTON, November 18. /TASS/. US President Joe Biden has set the stage for the start of World War III by authorizing strikes with US weapons deep into Russian territory, US Senator Mike Lee (a Republican representing Utah in the US Senate) said.

"Joe Biden [has] just set the stage for World War III. Let’s all pray it doesn’t come to that," Lee wrote on his X page, commenting on the media publication about the authorization of strikes by US ATACMS missiles deep into Russian territory.

Earlier, The New York Times reported, citing sources, that Biden had authorized strikes from the territory of Ukraine deep into Russia with ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles. In turn, Le Figaro sources said that France and the UK had authorized strikes with SCALP and Storm Shadow tactical missiles. There has been no official confirmation of this information from Washington, Paris or London.
