DUBAI, March 11. /TASS/. Western continued supplies of weapons to Ukraine indicate that they are unwilling to promote the conflict settlement, Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani said.
"Since the very beginning of this crisis, we have been insisting on a political solution and have been expressing our readiness to act as a mediator to help put an end to this war. Regrettably, what we see is the conflict’s further escalation. Supplies of Western weapons indicate that these countries don’t want to promote the crisis settlement," the Tasnim news agency quoted him as saying.
Tehran has repeatedly said that it is ready to act as a go-between in a bid to settle the Ukrainian crisis. Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has been stressing that Western arms supplies to Ukraine only protract the conflict.
