NEW YORK, February 28. /TASS/. The migration policy of the current US administration has turned the country into a haven for the most dangerous criminals from all over the world, US businessman Elon Musk said.

"The ability to discard your identification documents (from any country), walk across the southern border and claim ‘asylum’ has turned America into a refuge for the world’s worst criminals!" he wrote on his X page.

The illegal immigration situation has been a point of contention between southern states and the federal government for several years. The most tense situation is in the state of Texas, which is led by Republican Governor Greg Abbott, who favors tough measures to curb illegal immigration and has spoken out against the current US administration's policies on the issue. Musk has previously voiced his support for Abbott and called for the resignation of US Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, accusing him of condoning illegal immigration.
