NIZHNY NOVGOROD, September 24. /TASS/. Internet traffic in Russia will grow 2.5-fold over the next four years, Director General of the Russian Satellite Communications Company Alexey Volin said at the 31st International Conference of Satellite Communications and Broadcasting Operators and Users in Russia, Satcomrus-2026.
"Global internet traffic will grow fourfold. In Russia, internet traffic will grow 2.5-fold," one of Volin’s presentation slides on changes in satellite communications by 2030 reads.
The presentation also says that global video streaming traffic will increase about threefold, while traffic in Russia will double.
About the conference
The 31st International Conference of Satellite Communications and Broadcasting Operators and Users in Russia, Satcomrus-2026, is being held in Nizhny Novgorod on September 24-25.
The first day is dedicated to discussions on the development of the satellite communications market, prospects for communications and broadcasting spacecraft, and partnerships between operators, broadcasters, technology companies and the government. Participants will also discuss satellite communications systems for controlling unmanned aerial vehicles in the national economy. Business negotiations among participants are planned for the second day of the conference.
