TOKYO, August 31. /TASS/. Japan's oldest resident, Shigeko Kagawa, has died at the age of 115. Nippon Television reported, citing the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare.
According to the broadcaster, Shigeko Kagawa, who was born in 1911 and lived in Nara Prefecture, died on August 27. Fuyo Kishimoto from Kyoto, aged 114, is now the oldest person in Japan.
The world's oldest person is considered to be Britain's Ethel Caterham. The BBC previously reported that she turned 117 this year.
