MOSCOW, December 27. /TASS/. Russia's Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against US mercenary Ryan O'Leary for allegedly invading the Kursk Region, the agency's press service told TASS.

"The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a criminal case against Ryan O'Leary, a US citizen, who is suspected in absentia of committing a terrorist act and engaging in mercenarism," the report says.

The investigation revealed that O'Leary personally participated in the armed conflict as a mercenary. In August 2024, armed with automatic firearms, large-caliber weapons, explosive devices, and military equipment, O'Leary illegally crossed Russia's state border into the Kursk Region, where he committed his crimes.

"The investigation is taking measures to reveal O'Leary's location. In the course of the investigation, all the circumstances of his crimes will be established and a legal assessment of his actions will be given," the Investigative Committee concluded.
