MOSCOW, December 17. /TASS/. The Kiev regime is a terrorist state led by an illegitimate president and its criminal nature is clear to everyone, Vyacheslav Volodin, speaker of Russia’s State Duma, or lower parliament house, said, commenting on the death of Russia’s nuclear defense chief Igor Kirillov in a blast in Moscow.
"The Kiev regime’s criminal nature is evident. This is a terrorist state led by an illegitimate Nazi president. All those responsible must be duly punished," his press service quoted him as saying.
Kirillov, who died "in a terror attack," "did a great deal to boost the efficiency of Russia’s radiation, chemical, and biological protection troops and ensure the country’s security and sovereignty," Volodin said.
"I knew Igor Anatolyevich [Kirillov] well as we worked together during the parliamentary probe into Ukrainian biolaboratories. When the probe ended, we continued cooperation within the Duma working group on biosecurity," he recalled, adding that Kirillov was "a professional officer, a man of keen intellect and a patriot of Russia."
On the morning of December 17, an explosive device planted in a scooter exploded near the entrance of a residential building on Ryazansky Avenue in Moscow, investigators revealed. Kirillov, 54, and his aide were killed in the blast. The Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on charges of murder, terrorism, and illegal possession of arms and munitions (articles 105, 205, and 222 of the Russian Criminal Code). An investigation is underway.
