TOKYO, October 10. /TASS/. The Japanese government is closely monitoring North Korea’s actions jointly with the United States and South Korea amid the DPRK’s increasing military activity, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters on Monday.
"We are aware of North Korea’s statements. The continued provocations by North Korea are absolutely unacceptable and have been in violation of existing UN Security Council resolutions," the Japanese premier said. He added that the Japanese authorities, "jointly with the United States and South Korea, have been and will continue watching the actions" by the DPRK. Japan’s PM also pledged Tokyo’s cooperation with the G7 and the rest of the world on the situation around the Korean Peninsula.
North Korea’s state-run news agency KCNA reported earlier on Monday that leader Kim Jong Un had overseen drills involving the army's artillery units and flying corps in response "to enemy provocations" on October 6 and 8. Also, the North Korean leader reportedly oversaw missile launches between September 25 and October 9. Kim Jong Un also said he had no intention of holding talks with either the United States or South Korea which he described as enemy states. according to KCNA.
