MELITOPOL, October 27. /TASS/. Former Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian parliament) member Oleg Tsarev is in intensive care in grave condition after suffering a gunshot wound, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together With Russia movement, said.

"About the situation with Oleg Tsarev. Oleg is in grave condition. At the moment, he is in intensive care. There was no stabbing; Oleg was shot," Rogov wrote on his Telegram channel.

A former people’s deputy in the Verkhovna Rada (2002-2014), Tsarev was the target of an assassination attempt and was shot twice, his official Telegram channel said.

"The information about the attack on Oleg Tsarev has been confirmed by his relatives. Around midnight, someone snuck onto the premises of the sanatorium (medical health spa - TASS) where he lives; he was shot twice. There is no information about the perpetrators; law enforcement agencies are handling the case," the statement said.
