Russia supplies record 8.6 bcm of gas, 4.8 mln tons of oil via Druzhba to Hungary in 2024

A total of 4.78 mln tons of oil were supplied to Hungary via the southern line of Druzhba last year, and 956,000 tons in January-February 2025

MOSCOW, March 26. /TASS/. Russia supplied record 8.6 bln cubic meters of gas to Hungary in 2024, while deliveries via the Druzhba pipeline reached 4.78 mln tons, the Russian cabinet of ministers said in a statement.

"In 2024, supplies of Russian gas to Hungary reached record 8.6 bln cubic meters, and totaled 1.18 bln cubic meters as of March 1, 2025," the statement reads.

A total of 4.78 mln tons of oil were supplied to Hungary via the southern line of Druzhba last year, and 956,000 tons in January-February 2025.

"We very much appreciate the Hungarian leadership’s reasonable and unbiased foreign political line. Your invariably constructive stand enables us to efficiently cooperate and solve all emerging issues despite the challenging international environment. Amid the current conditions, it is reasonable to continue implementing the agreements achieved earlier in strategic areas, maintain and multiply the whole range of bilateral developments in all areas of the Russian-Hungarian cooperation. Russia is firmly committed to further development of pragmatic and mutually beneficial relations with Hungary," Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak was quoted as saying following the meeting with Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto.

Novak also stressed the commitment to reliability of energy supplies for Hungary and expressed readiness to take all necessary measures to make sure that deliveries to partners remain uninterrupted and predictable.
