Asia's largest satellite manufacturing plant to be built in Hainan by end of 2025

The project includes the plant itself, a test center and eight autonomous research centers

HAIKOU /China/, March 10. /TASS/. The construction of Asia's largest satellite manufacturing plant will be completed in the southern Chinese province of Hainan by the end of 2025, Hainan Daily reported.

The project includes the factory itself, a test center and eight autonomous research centers. The total construction area covers 60 thousand square meters, and the investment in the project exceeds 1 billion yuan (about $140 million).

It is currently the largest satellite manufacturing facility under construction in Asia. Once it is operational and reaches full production capacity, it will be able to produce up to 1,000 spacecraft per year. It will also be the only facility in the country to combine manufacturing and designing satellites.

The facility is expected to produce its first satellite by the end of 2025.
